ExpenseIn Launches Enhanced Reporting Requirements (ERR) Feature for Irish Customers
From 1 January 2024, Irish employers have been required to report tax-free payments – like travel and subsistence – to Revenue on or before the payment date, using a specific JSON format.
That’s a big ask for finance teams that don’t work in JSON.
The Challenge for Finance Teams
Since the new rules came into effect, most finance teams have been trying to stay compliant by exporting CSVs from their finance systems, manually converting those files into JSON, and figuring out – pay cycle after pay cycle – what’s actually reportable and what isn’t.
It’s time-consuming, technical, and easy to get wrong. We’ve heard from many teams that even when they’re doing their best, there’s still uncertainty around whether their reports are fully compliant.
A Simpler, More Reliable Solution
To remove that burden, we’ve launched a new ERR feature in ExpenseIn. It automatically generates Revenue-compliant reports from your existing expense data – no manual formatting required.
What it gives you:
Instant JSON exports: Fully formatted and compliant, ready to upload to Revenue
Built-in PPSN encryption: Secure, GDPR-compliant handling of sensitive data
Smart filters: Automatically exclude non-reportable items like company card or volunteer expenses
One-click exports: Create one file for all employees, per payment cycle
5-minute setup: No technical setup or IT support needed
"Our Irish custiomers kept telling us they were sinking hours into ERR reporting, and still weren’t sure they were doing it right. It was technical, time-consuming, and stressful. We built the ERR feature to take that uncertainty and the manual work off their plate."
If you’re already trying to comply manually, this likely saves several hours per cycle. If you’re not yet compliant, this is an easy way to get there before it becomes a problem.
Getting Started
The ERR feature is available to all Irish customers now. Setup takes less than five minutes and requires no IT support. Just map your fields once, and you’re good to go.
