"Finance leaders losing visibility as expense management grows more complex” warns ExpenseIn
New ExpenseIn interface tackles the growing disconnect between financial oversight and modern spending needs.
London, UK; 2nd May 2025: ExpenseIn, who is part of the AccountsIQ Group, has today warned that many businesses are facing a critical visibility gap as expense management becomes increasingly complex in today's environment.
With its recent survey revealing that 52% of organisations are planning to cut expenses due to rising government costs, this issue will come even more into focus among UK businesses. Among 125 CFOs and senior finance leaders, expenses ranked as the second most pressured finance operation (24%), after payroll. The survey also found 40% of businesses struggle with regulatory compliance, while 23% face challenges with manual processes.
To address this, ExpenseIn has unveiled a refreshed user interface and upgraded mobile app, designed to bridge the gap between finance leaders’ need for oversight and employees’ demand for simplicity. The enhanced platform continues to deliver real-time spending insights and streamlined workflows, but with an upgraded look and feel to increase ease of use and accessibility for customers.
Richard Jones, Managing Director of ExpenseIn, commented:
“As business spending becomes more distributed across teams and locations, finance leaders are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain visibility without creating friction for employees. Our refreshed interface ensures our users can continue to access critical information at the right time but with a modernised UI to make managing expenses faster, easier and more intuitive. Continuing to innovate across all our products is a key priority for us to ensure we deliver value to our users and support businesses at this critical time where costs are in the spotlight.”
The new interface introduces a more modern, streamlined experience across both web and mobile. On the web platform, users benefit from a refreshed, cleaner design that still feels familiar but improves usability. Navigation has been simplified across the system to help users complete tasks faster across all areas. Additionally, finance and admin users can now access the full web interface from a mobile browser, giving them greater flexibility to manage workflows on the go.
The mobile app now features a completely redesigned home screen, offering users a clear snapshot of their unclaimed expenses, recent submissions, and key actions. The app now also supports invoice and purchase request approvals - new additions that bring more functionality into the hands of users wherever they are. Quick purchase creation and AI-driven receipt categorisation reduce time spent on admin, making expense submission easier and more accurate for employees on the move.
The refreshed web interface will roll out to all existing users in May 2025, with the mobile app version releasing in stages via app stores.
