We’re excited to share that ExpenseIn has once again achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification!

This marks the second consecutive year we’ve earned the highest level of recognition under the UK Government-backed scheme from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

What Cyber Essentials means

Cyber Essentials Plus is designed to help organisations protect against the most common cyber threats.

Unlike the base-level Cyber Essentials certification, CE Plus involves a detailed technical audit by an independent assessor, who verifies that security measures are not only in place but also working effectively in practice.

For finance teams, that means added confidence when selecting and working with vendors who handle sensitive company and employee data.

How we are assessed

To achieve certification, our security controls were tested across five key areas:

  • Firewalls

  • Security configuration

  • Security update management

  • User access control

  • Malware protection

Passing these checks confirms that our systems and processes are robustly protecting customer and employee data.

Why This Matters To You

Choosing expense management software means trusting a partner with sensitive company and employee data.

Cyber Essentials Plus offers your procurement, security, and compliance teams a clear signal that ExpenseIn:

  • Has security measures that are tested in practice, not just written in policy

  • Reduces risk by defending against the most common cyber threats

  • Holds a government-recognised certification that makes due diligence faster and easier

Our commitment to security

“Cybersecurity isn’t a once-a-year project. It’s something our team works on every day. Achieving Cyber Essentials Plus for the second time shows that our approach holds up under independent scrutiny, giving our customers confidence that their data is safe with us.”

Rich Jones, Managing Director, ExpenseIn

We’re proud to have renewed this certification, but what matters most is the reassurance it provides to our customers.

The trust you place in us is never taken for granted, and it drives us to keep strengthening our platform so that finance teams can continue to rely on ExpenseIn with confidence.
