What. A. Year.
2025 began with a major milestone as ExpenseIn joined the AccountsIQ Group, setting the tone for an exciting year. From new partnerships and a refreshed UI to expanded card capabilities and strengthened security standards, it was a year defined by clear steps forward across the platform.
And throughout all of this, our focus stayed the same: making everyday finance work simpler, faster, and easier to stay on top of.
Here’s a look back at everything we achieved together.

2025: The Highlights

January – ExpenseIn joins the AccountsIQ Group
We began the year with a major milestone: ExpenseIn was acquired by AccountsIQ.
Together, we’re now delivering a more connected finance stack for mid-market organisations – combining advanced expense management with AccountsIQ’s cloud accounting platform to support the entire office of the CFO.
A strong start to 2025.
March – A new partnership with IRIS Software Group
In March, we announced a strategic partnership with IRIS Software Group.
ExpenseIn now integrates with IRIS Cascade, giving HR and finance teams one connected workflow for people data and expenses.
April – Joint industry survey with AccountsIQ
April saw the release of our joint survey with AccountsIQ, which revealed how 125 UK finance leaders are responding to rising government costs and operational pressure.
Key findings:
52% of organisations are cutting expenses
25% have already introduced new restrictions
Payroll and expenses are the most scrutinised areas of spend
The biggest blockers remain changing regulations and manual processes
The message was clear: finance teams need tools that remove busywork and help them stay ahead.
May – A new UI & mobile app built for speed
In May, we launched a completely refreshed ExpenseIn UI and mobile app.
Cleaner design, clearer navigation, faster access, and a more intuitive mobile experience – all while keeping the familiar layout loved by our users.
A major upgrade, and heavily shaped by customer feedback.
May – Recognised with three Gartner Digital Markets awards
Also in May, ExpenseIn earned three “Best Of” badges from Gartner Digital Markets, our first category wins, which were based entirely on customer reviews.
Awards included:
Best Customer Support
Best Functionality & Features
Best Value
A huge thank you to everyone who shared feedback! These awards exist because of you.
June – ERR reporting made simple for Irish teams
Ireland’s Enhanced Reporting Requirements (ERR) introduced new, technical reporting formats that pushed many teams into manual CSV exports and JSON headaches.
So in June, we launched our ERR reporting feature, which automatically generates Revenue-compliant JSON files from your existing data.
For Irish finance teams, this meant hours saved and far fewer compliance worries.
June – The ExpenseIn Card officially launches
June also saw the launch of the ExpenseIn Card, built directly into the platform for real-time visibility into spending.
Purchases appear instantly
Receipts are captured on the spot
Draft expenses build themselves
Controls and approvals happen in one place
Accounting syncs automatically
This is what company cards should have always been.

August – Virtual cards for instant, flexible spend
In August, we introduced virtual cards for subscriptions, travel bookings, events, project budgets, and all the online spend that never needed a physical card.
Issue a card in seconds
Set the rules
Assign an owner
A cleaner way to manage online spend from day one.
September – Cyber Essentials Plus, certified again
September brought another security milestone: Cyber Essentials Plus for the second year running.
Passing again confirms our systems hold up under real-world scrutiny, not just in policy.
Another year of solid, independently verified security.
November – ISO 9001 & ISO 27001 certification
In November, we achieved certification for ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management).
For customers, it makes procurement smoother and validates that the data flowing through ExpenseIn is protected under frameworks that actually mean something.
Two certifications, one message: trust the system behind the product.
December – Digital wallets for faster, safer spend
We closed out the year with one of our most-requested updates: digital wallets.
ExpenseIn Cards can now be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay, giving teams instant, secure tap-to-pay access straight from their phone or smartwatch.
A simple change, but a big step forward for fast, secure, on-the-go spending.
What’s Coming in 2026
Looking ahead, 2026 will focus on strengthening the core workflows finance teams use every day and reducing more of the manual steps that slow things down.
Much of what we’re working on builds on the foundations we set this year: deeper integrations, clearer insights, and smoother processes across expenses, cards, approvals, and reporting.
All designed with the same goal of making everyday finance work simpler, faster, and easier to stay on top of.
Thank You for Being Part of This Year
To our customers, partners, and the brilliant teams behind the scenes: thank you for being part of such a transformative year!
We’ve loved building with you, supporting you, and celebrating your wins.
Here’s to an even smoother, smarter, and more automated 2026 – with far fewer spreadsheets and far more control.
